The Alzheimer’s Society provides a wide range of local support from one-to-one dementia advisers to community groups, education sessions and help with understanding a diagnosis. They’re often the first place families go when things feel overwhelming or when they simply need someone to reassure them they’re not alone. One of the most uplifting services they offer is Singing for the Brain. These sessions bring people affected by dementia together through music, rhythm and familiar songs. It’s not just about singing, it’s about connection, joy and sparking memories in a relaxed, supportive setting. The Alzheimer’s Society runs both online sessions and in-person groups across the region, including Portsmouth, Basingstoke and Thornhill, giving families plenty of opportunities to join in and enjoy the proven benefits that music can bring to wellbeing
Across the region, dementia services focus on helping people live well at every stage of the condition.
